My husband has been a huge fan of Aural for some fourth dimension at present. He drives a lot for his task, so he will frequently listen to an audiobook in lieu of music or the radio. As y'all can imagine, he listens to a lot of books! I take always said I don't have time to mind to audiobooks (I barely take fourth dimension to read the old-fashioned manner). Now that I accept realized what a huge option of children's literature is available on Audible, however, audiobooks are quickly becoming a wonderful pick, peculiarly for our upcoming road trips (when the kids are ready to take a break from the DVD thespian).

Best Audiobooks For Kids

The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe

The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis

I honey this volume so much and I tin't wait to listen to it along with my children. I take been waiting until they were a little older, but I think this is the perfect opportunity to enjoy information technology together. You can't go wrong with this amazing classic by the bright C.S. Lewis.

My Weird School

Miss Daisy is Crazy   past Dan Gutman

On the opposite terminate of the spectrum to C.S. Lewis, this volume is sort of giddy and ridiculous. This is the first book in the My Weird School series past Dan Gutman. My boys arecrazy for these books…they think they are hilarious.

Big Blood brother has already read several of these this summer and keeps wanting to bank check more out from the library. They will be thrilled to know they are available as audiobook for kids.

Alarm: I am not totally thrilled with all of the language in this book. They use words such as "stupid" and "hate" (among others), which are words that we don't allow our kids to use in our home. Just nosotros utilize this as a teaching opportunity to remind our kids that just because we hear other people use these words (or read them) doesn't give us the justification to talk that mode.

If you have a reluctant reader (particularly a boy), I would highly suggest letting himlisten to ane of these bookswith you and so encourage him to read the rest on his ain. I'm pretty sure the audiobook will claw him into wanting to read more.

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll

We have not read or listened to this audiobook withal, just it is on my list for ourloooooongroad trip in July. Although we are not sure if we will be taking our boys to see the motion-picture showAlice Through the Looking Drinking glass (I am still waiting to read some of the reviews as the previews look pretty dark), this is a great option for discussions well-nigh similarities and differences in books and movies. Either way, however, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is a classic that should be part of every childhood whether it is read traditionally or listened to!

Jungle Book

The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling

This would be another neat book/moving-picture show comparing! This audiobook for kids is broken up into two separate "books" with lots of shorter tales in each book, making it perfect for listening to in short segments.

Mary Poppins

Mary Poppins by P.L. Travers

I am including this audiobook more for me than for anyone else. I have never readMary Poppinsand have been wanting to read the original book ever since I sawSaving Mr. Banksa few years ago. Yet some other archetype that is sure to be enjoyed by the unabridged family!

Boxcar Children

The Boxcar Children by Gertrude Chandler Warner

The Boxcar Childrenserial was my favorite when I was a piffling daughter. I read the get-go 3 books aloud to the boys a few years agone, merely I think they are now at the ages where they would exist more interested and intrigued nigh how this set up of siblings really did survive on their ain. This is definitely one I am excited for them to heed to and hoping information technology volition pique their interest to read the subsequent books themselves.

Acts of the Apostles

Acts of the Apostles

Our boys beloved listening to Bible Audio Dramas, especially before bed. I am super excited to heed to this version. Big Blood brother will be participating in something chosen Leadership Training for Christ (LTC) through our church building this coming spring (for 3rd graders through high schoolers) and the theme for the year is Acts of the Apostles. This volition be wonderful as he prepares his middle and mind for applying the word of God into his chosen activities.

the boy who harnessed the wind

The Male child Who Harnessed the Wind past William Kamkwamba and Bryan Mealer

This is a nonfiction audiobook near a Malawian boy who congenital a windmill and brought electricity to his tiny hamlet during a drought. I chose this Audiobook for 2 reasons:  information technology shows the hardships that others effectually the world face up while likewise showing how ane kid can truly make a difference.

abraham lincoln

Abraham Lincoln by Janet and Geoff Benge

This biography of Abraham Lincoln is perfect for kids showing an interest in presidents. Lincoln's entire life is included, with an emphasis on the grapheme, integrity, and backbone exemplified by one of the nation'southward greatest presidents.

BFG

The BFG by Roald Dahl

I bought this book to read aloud with my boys earlier we saw the movie! Although this book might exist a bit too scary for younger or more sensitive children it is really a wonderful and exciting book that captivates the attending of children, and even adults.
